Selway River
Description
The Selway is one of the most sought after river permits in the country. Being so competitive to get a permit means the only time I have had the opportunity to do this run is at extremely high water, which I do not recommend to anyone. Most Folks do this run raft support in 3-5 days. At high flows getting a raft down through this run with out having carnage would be extremely difficult if not impossible.
Directions
To get to the put in take route 473 out of Darby, MT to the Magruder Corridor rd. Take the Magruder Corridor Rd over Nez Perce pass and down in to the Selway river drainage. The put in is at Paradise Campground. For the take out take route 12 over Lolo Pass to Lowell, ID. From Lowell take Selway road up to the first bridge above Selway Falls that crosses over the Selway River. This is the take out. Make sure you take out above Selway Falls!
Camping
There is plenty of Camping at the put in and the take out.
