No Sweat Arete 5.7

Description

No Sweat Arete is a great 3 pitch (or more) climb up Mill Creek. The first pitch is rather loose and dirty so take care not to drop a big block on your partner. There is no specific line up this face but most of it is relatively easy climbing with good stances to place gear from and good belay ledges. We hiked up around the back side of the arete and started the first pitch on a ledge with an old stuck peice of gear.

Directions

Take Route 93 south out of Missoula and take a left when you see a sign for the Mill Creek Trail Head. Follow the signs to the trail head and start hiking. After a while you will cross over the creek on a log bridge. After another 20 minutes of hiking the arete will come in to view. Look for a small trail that starts the scramble up to the base of the climb. When you get to the ledge start hiking east up through the gully and hug the cliff band until you can head down hill to the trail again.
