Description

Blodgett has plenty of ice opportunities in the winter time. The swan slabs offer great WI 2-3 slab climbing for 2 pitches and then a more verticle waterfall at the top. Blodgett falls forms next to Shashone and offers WI 3-4 for 2-3 pitches. There are also some other flows down here depending on the weather.

 

Directions

To get to Blodgett take Highway 93 South out of Missoula almost to Hamilton and look for the Forrest Service Trail head signs to Blodgett Canyon on the right before you go over the Bitterroot River. Follow the Forrest Service signs untill you get to the trail head and start hiking. The Swan Slabs will be on the South Canyon wall across from Shashone Spire. Blodgett falls forms right of Shashone spire.
